1502 Ruby Cigar Review “Experience the richness”

1502_slide1

Brand History:

Global Premium Cigars is a tobacco company that is proudly Nicaraguan. They own one of the most renown and prestigious brands – 1502.

Within the 1502, you will find three tobacco lines of the highest quality; where the sowing process, harvest, curing, aging and selection of each tobacco leaf are their major concern. It takes more than five years from the time of its sowing until the time you can enjoy one of their cigars – patience is truly a virtue.

It is the blend created for the discerning smoker’s delight, one that recognizes a great cigar. Its aesthetic presentation reveals the art of the handcraftsmanship that each of their cigar makers have achieved after many years of experience. It yields all the flavor and aroma from de Valle of Jalapa and Estelí in Nicaragua, wrapped with a beautiful dark wrapper from Ecuador.

Appearance:

The cigar has a hearty dark brown wrapper with a nice pre-light aroma and hints of sweetness. There are some earthy and cocoa notes as well at the foot.

Journey Profile:

1st quarter: It offered a smooth draw with big clouds of thick smoke. There were sweet and spicy earthy tones with a nice rich aroma. Spices were very forward through the nose with some roasted notes.   2nd quarter: The draw was effortless with still a good amount of spice in the nose and a touch of sweetness. Later, some woody and cocoa notes began to develop and the burn remained long and even.   3rd quarter: The burn continued mostly even and produced a long and flaky ash. There were cedar notes on the palate along with lingering cocoa and spice.   4th quarter: The cigar maintained an underlying sweetness on the palate and in the aroma. There was a dense, creamy texture to the smoke along with spice through the nose.

Final Thoughts:

The 1501 Ruby cigar offered medium-body strength and an impressive, flavorful finish. It had a nice amount of complexity from start to finish and offered great flavor and a rich body. It is an extremely well made cigar.
