Appearance:
This Honduran wrapper has a roasted almond color that has a rustic look to it. Its seamlessness and silky smooth touch had a distinctly bold pre-light smell. The cigar has a nice firmness to it as well as a sweet hay-like smell.
Cigar Profile:
The cigar gave off a very rich aroma of smoke. Its draw is very smooth on the palate. There are some cedar notes with an earthy edge. You will also detect the spiciness that nicely complements its sweet goodness. As I progressed through the cigar, the complexity moved further along – there was a smooth, creamy texture followed by a peppery spice on the finish. The aroma and flavors develop in intensity, delivering very rich and full characters.
Final Thoughts:
Mundial Punta Lanza No. 5 has a full and complex character with a very long and full bodied finish. It is really a shame that it is only a limited run. It is a very well made cigar that was effortless to enjoy and left a lasting impression. Bursting with flavors, intriguing combinations and richness, this cigar is of unmistakable quality.
