No. 3 Best Cigar Pick of 2014 “My Fathers El Centurion Cigar”
El Centurion cigars once were a limited release in 2007 and now this line is back in full stride. This new blend of cigars will give you the experience of rich flavors and the tradition of old world Cuban blends.
The El Centurion has a Sun Grown Criollo wrapper (dark reddish brown in color with a nice soft feel), and Corojo Habano and Sancti Spiritus in the filler and binder. In taking a closer look, you will find that the head has a triple cap and only a few veins from the cap to the foot.
The El Centurion started with a very even burn right from the beginning of the smoke. The taste of spice, toasted nuts and earthiness are immediately noticeable on the palette. Throughout the smoke, this cigar kept a very long ash and the draw grew easier as time went on. During the second half of the smoke, there was plenty of sweet, full-flavored smoke which was really enjoyable. The same delicious flavors continued all the way through to the cap of the cigar.
Overall, the El Centurion is a great medium-bodied cigar with a nice balance of flavors. With a price of only $8.50, it is a very good buy for the value.
