Soneros Habano Maduro by Cubanacan Cigars Review “a collaboration with master blender Omar González-Alemán”
Brand History:
Cubanacan Cigars endeavors to build on the stories and traditions of tobacco history that originated in Cuba; stories that were passed from generation to generation. In 2006, the Mederos family took the story to the fertile soils of Nicaragua, growing tobacco in Esteli and Jalapa. Shortly after, they established a cigar factory in Esteli and, with five pairs of rollers, set out to create cigars that would share their story with the world. Cubanacan means “where fertile land is abundant” and is derived from tobacco traditions that predate Cuba itself. The story of Cubanacan Cigars is not just one of our past, but one that is still being written. Cubanacan Cigars not only wants to share its story, but wants each person who enjoys their cigars to help write the next part of their tale.
Soneros cigars came about as a collaboration between true master blender Omar González-Alemán and the Cubanacan Cigars family. As a young child, Omar González-Alemán began his journey participating in the tobacco harvesting process. Years later, his accumulated knowledge allowed him to work for the Partagas factory, and many other recognized factories of Havana, Cuba. Associating with Cuba’s best cigar rollers and staff who were involved with production and marketing for many years, he learned important secrets of blending. Omar González-Alemán dedicated all his love, knowledge, and attention to crafting the highest quality of cigars.
Appearance:
The Soneros has a rich, very nice oily brown wrapper that’s smooth to the touch. The pre-light smell indicates hints of cedar and light spice.
Journey Profile:
1st quarter: An incredibly smooth draw that delivered full flavored smoke from the start. Effortless smoke, with big clouds of dense, full flavor delivered to the palate. 2nd quarter: There’s a mouthwatering creamy texture with some spices that linger on the finish. A very good balance flavor with a medium-body. Spice was pronounced through the nose, with coffee and hints of a sweet texture. 3rd quarter: Complex characters with continuous development in flavors. There’s a rich and enticing aroma with an underlying touch of sweetness. Spice through the nose with a clean texture on the palate. 4th quarter: Big flavor and aroma with rich tobacco, cocoa and earthy flavors. Very nice balance on the palate and was packed with flavor. Delivering plenty of flavors that keep developing while you enjoy the profile from start to finish.
Final Thoughts:
Outstanding construction with a nearly all white ash. Extremely well-made cigar with flavor and spice packed that continued to deliver and develop plenty of flavors from start to finish.. Tasty and effortless to enjoy. A great cigar that offers a lot of flavor and rich, full body.
