“Soft sweetness” Swinger 1895 Cigar Review.

Brand History:

Swinger Cigars is a new boutique brand from Michigan.  Their cigars are made from hand-selected tobacco, carefully blended to ensure the most enjoyable smoking experience.  The company prides itself on delivering high quality cigars at affordable prices.  In 2015, they introduced a few new cigar lines including the Front 9, Back 9 and the 1895.  With these lines aimed toward the avid golfer, we expect you will be pleased with your smoking experience out on the course.

 Appearance:

The cigar has a slightly reddish brown wrapper with an oily sheen throughout.  There was an earthy, soft sweetness with an interestingly tangy smell on the pre-light.IMG_1815_wm

Journey Profile:

1st quarter: There were big tobacco aromas with a very smooth draw and a great even burn.  Some creamy smoke started to develop along with some traces of spice through the nose.  2nd quarter: Spices continued through the nose and lingered on the palate along with sweet undertones.  The cigar produced big clouds of thick white smoke that held onto a creamy texture and buttery aroma.  There was no resistance on the draw, which helped further fuel the smoke along.  3rd quarter: A very smooth, balanced and richly aromatic flavor developed on the palate.  The aroma of the smoke remained very rich as it transitioned to sweet and earthy notes, and big, rich clouds of smoke continued to come forth with full flavor.  4th quarter: Smooth and creamy, full-flavored smoke continued developing and offered just a hint of spice. Traces of cocoa notes progressed in tandem with the building of the cigar’s body, finishing full and well-balanced.

Final Thoughts:

The Swinger 1895 Cigar is a great medium body with good, full flavor to match.  It has an overall creamy texture along with some sweet notes on the palate.  It is well balanced with good construction that allows it to continuously develop into an appealing flavor profile.  Overall, it is a very well made cigar.
