Appearance:
We smoke the Crux Bull and Bear in 2016 and now had a new look but same blend. The cigar has a great looking blue fancy band. It’s a very smooth and attractive cigar with a fantastic looking oily sheen wrapper. Keeping to the previous blend the pre-light smell of earthy and sweet tobacco notes.
Journey Profile:
1st Third
Once the cigar was lit, it had an interesting spicy character in the aroma with more sweet tones. A very smooth draw and rich enticing characters were noticed right away. A tasty creamy texture which carried over to the taste.
2nd Third:
The smoke had a lot of white pepper notes through the nose and lingered on the palate. The aroma was full and rich, and the smoke had more creamy texture. An underlying spice that built in strength as the cigar was smoked.
Final 3rd:
Some cocoa texture with a dense, mouthwatering texture. More spice picked up in the taste as the cigar was smoked and lingered through the finish of each puff. Still roast-like flavors with some nutty flavor on the my palate.
Final Thoughts:
Packed with more consistent flavors. Full bodied at the end with the flavor and aroma to the match. There’s something new and different about the 2019 Crux Bull when the blend is suppose to be the same. Great burn and construction well balanced and rich and an overall excellent cigar.
