ABOUT KARL MALONE

Karl Anthony Malone is an American retired professional basketball player. Nicknamed “The Mailman,” Malone played the power played the power forward position and spent his first 18 seasons (1985–2003) in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Utah Jazz and formed a formidable duo with his teammate John Stockton.

Malone also played one season for the Los Angeles Lakers. Malone was a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, a 14-time NBA All-Star, and an 11-time member of the All-NBA first team. His 36,928 career points scored rank second all-time in NBA history (behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) and holds the records for most free throws attempted and made, in addition to co-holding the record for the second most first-team All-NBA selections in history (tied with Kobe Bryant and behind LeBron James). He is considered one of the best power forwards in NBA history. Malone also competed with the United States national team in the Summer Olympic Games of 1992 and 1996; in both years he won gold medals.

ABOUT LA AURORA

La Aurora was founded on October 3rd, 1903 by Eduardo León Jimenes, a hard-working man who was son and grandson of tobacco growers, that, without neglecting his family tradition, decided to go a step further with the creation of a cigar brand which he intended to have a global dimension. The founder was then 18 years old, inherited a small piece of land and with a reduced roster of six employees, continents and more than a thousand employees. La Aurora is today, the leading cigar factory in the Dominican national market, with its brands being sold in more than sixty countries all around the world references with such well-known brands as La Aurora, León Jimenes,  Princes, Family Reserve and Imperiales.

Appearance :

The cigar has a creamy brown color with a sweet hay like pre-light smell.  An overall silky feeling and covered with a gorgeous wrapper.

Journey Profile:

 1st Third

There’s an effortless draw with some interesting tangy, earthy minty like texture flavors.  There’s some very light spices through the nose and lingering on the palate with sweet undertones.  The cigar burned slowly and even producing a long and flakey ash.

2^nd Third:

Great flavor and body starting to develop while providing thick clouds of full flavored , creamy smoke to the palate as well.  Full flavor of tobacco and some cocoa notes with a smooth draw that let a lot of creamy, buttery smoke through to the palate. Rich tones and aroma filled with earthy notes.

Final 3^rd:

Once into the final third it continued with the same flavors and characters.  Then halfway through the 3^rd these same great flavors changed.  The rich tones and aroma drastically reduced by half.  With a few more touch ups and at the end a welcome back of some creamy flavor and spices through the nose with full aroma.

Final Thoughts:

There was a full flavor profile from the start of the cigar finish.  Rich tones and aroma, filled with earthiness.  Medium body with along and flavorful finish.  With the exception of the touch ups good construction with full flavor characters.
