CAO FASA Noche Cigar Review: A Flavorful Luxury Experience

CAO FASA Noche Cigar… featured in The Blaze Report.

Brand Profile:

The legendary General Cigar Company is proud to present Cohiba Riviera cigars – the latest addition to the Cohiba family of fine luxury cigars. The Cohiba Riviera represents several firsts for this iconic Cuban heritage brand. The cigar is the first-ever box-pressed offering by Cohiba, Its also the first time that Cohiba used a San Andrés wrapper and Nicaraguan Condega long filler tobacco for any blend. The rest of the recipe includes additional Honduran long filler tobacco from the country’s fertile Jamastran Valley region and a tasty Connecticut- seed Honduran binder. The end result is a medium bodied smoke that offers a great burn while serving up delicious, smooth flavors of white pepper, leather, earth, and coffee bean, backed by a rich tobacco sweetness that gently lingers on the palate. Order a box of Cohiba Riviera cigars from JR Cigar today, and enjoy a luxury class smoke whose volcano-enriched soil from Mexico’s San Andrés Valley and Nicaragua deliver a smoke that’s northing of spectacular.

Vitola (Size): 7 x 38

Wrapper:

Mexican San Andrés

Binder:

Honduras

Filler:

Honduras, Nicaragua

Pairs Perfectly With:

Ron Abuelo Three Angels Rum.

Ron Abuelo Three Angels is an elegant 12-year-old rum, finished in extra charred first-fill barrels on our highest racks. After the angels have taken their share, the rum boasts an unrivalled intensity and extraordinary richness. The soaring flavors and celestial smoothness of Three Angels comes from being finished in extra-charred barrels on the highest racks in our bodega. The sixth rack is where the equatorial temperatures can soar, dramatically increasing the interaction between the extra charred oak and our aged rum. This, in turn, increases evaporation (the angels share) and intensifies the flavors.

The Blaze Report:

Appearance:

This cigar had a gorgeous dark brown toothy wrapper with an unmistakable pre-light aroma with sweet and smoky tones.  Oily with a leathery texture to its touch.

1st Third:

There was a very slight resistance on the draw which made for an experience.  Very smooth draw delivered thick clouds of white and creamy smoke.  There was some spice through the nose that eventually lingered on the palate with a creamy texture to dominate the palate as well.

2nd Third:

Produced more lot of thick and flavorful smoke that hung in the air like a cloud.  The foot also produced a lot of smoke, but the cigar delivered even more to the palate.  A lot of interesting full flavored spices with an underlying medium body and a touch of sweetness.

Final 3rd:

Extremely creamy texture on the palate with a nice spiciness through the nose that quickly intensified.  A lot of flavor with a present body that lingers in the background.  Slow burn held on to a sexy ash.  The flavors continued to develop and grow as the body became more pronounced.

Making the Grade

Final Thoughts:

Outstanding construction with a very slight resistance on the draw and a slow even burn that produced a long, nearly white ash.  The cigar maintained an exceptional rich aroma.  Overall an outstanding cigar that is brimming with flavors complexities.  It had a solid medium body with a long, flavorful finish.  An exceptional cigar and size
