Brand Profile:
Don Doroteo is a brand with both purpose and passion; its deep seeded heritage holds enough weight to sell aficionados beautifully pre rolled cigars, but it would feel inauthentic to do so. Therefore, it’s imperative for us to stay true to Doroteo’s essence by cultivating and growing on our own land, in the Dominican Republic. This is much bigger than simply mass producing cigars; we aim to create change from within. By developing our own land, we are able to own the entire process throughout our plant’s life cycle. We methodically carry out each step, ensuring that the final product is of the finest quality. Consequently, Don Doroteo will only release a limited quantity each season to preserve its exquisite quality.
While we honor the legacy passed on to us and are tremendously proud of our deep roots, it is important for us to take the necessary steps in the way we operate. Historically, traditional industries have been plagued with inhumane practices, of which we aim to eradicate. Don Doroteo is a conscious organization, built on the shoulders of those working the field’s day in and day out, just as our great grandfathers did for this industry. As such, we will nurture and scale our team, as we do the enterprise.
Don Doroteo Cigars may have just been established but in actuality those roots date back beyond the 20th century. It was 1936 when Doroteo Fermin Delgado decided to follow in his late fathers footsteps, by growing tobacco in the heart of Santiago, Dominican Republic. At the tender age of 16, he began his legacy – for his descendants, his community, and ultimately for the world. He never imagined the impact he would have on this industry, for years to come.

The Blaze Report:
Appearance:
This cigar had an evenly colored, light oily brown wrapper with a leathery feel to the touch. It was solid to the touch and had a rich earthy hey-like smell tone on the pre-light.
1st Third:
There was almost no resistance on the draw which effortlessly provided thick white clouds of smoke. There was an intense up front spiciness in the aroma as well as on the palate. Very nice amounts of tobacco notes up front with peppery spices in the nose and on the finish were developing.

2nd Third:
Peppery spices remained consistent the whole way through. More great big clouds of thick white smoke filled the air. The aroma also developed and became richer as the cigar was smoked with a honey-like sweetness and luring tobacco notes. The aroma had a sweet backbone with some cedar and wood developing along with some cocoa.

Final 3rd:
Smoke smoothly and effortlessly continued to produce with a nice dark gray ash. More consistent peppery spice through the nose and lingering on the finish. A touch of cocoa notes were detected in the aroma of the smoke. The smoke was well-rounded on the palate with a mouthwatering texture which helped spread the flavors very well.

Making the Grade
Final Thoughts:
The cigar packed a punch and offered the flavor to match. Full flavors with an underlying creamy texture on the palate with spices that developed in the nose and on the finish. Outstanding construction that held onto a dense, dark gray ash. Medium-full body with a slow and even burn. Overall a very well made cigar with sweet, peppery characters.
