Pairs Perfectly With:

brugal 1888 rum.

Harnessing over 130 years of rum making expertise, Brugal created 1888, an exceptional double-aged Dominican rum, regarded as one of the world’s best. 1888 is first matured in American oak casks, followed by a second maturation in Spanish oak casks. This extensive maturation process creates a sophisticated rum with a complex, rich and beautifully balanced flavor profile of toffee, vanilla, peach, cocoa and cloves. Like the world’s finest whiskies, Brugal 1888 was crafted to be sipped neat, but is equally great enjoyed over frozen coconut water ice, or in a spirit-forward cocktail like the Old Fashioned..

The Blaze Report:

Appearance:

This cigar had a nice oily brown wrapper that was smooth to the touch with a mild earthy and cocoa aroma on the pre-light with a touch of peppery notes. Just the right amount of visible veins and seams.

1st Third:

An incredible smooth draw with the slightest resistance delivered full flavored smoke right away.  There was a mouthwatering creamy texture with some that linger on the finish.  The cigar had a slow and very even burn, producing a dense, light gray ash.

2nd Third:

Very nice amounts of tobacco notes up front with peppery spices in the nose and on the finish were developing. Creamy texture on the palate with spiciness in the smoke, especially through the nose.  Flavors and aroma continued to develop and lingered on the finish and had a very enticing character with light consistent spices.

Final 3rd:

Flavor continued to develop and intensify, delivering a very rich and full flavored, luring characters.  The aroma and flavor continued to develop with some woody notes that developed later on.  Very rich character overall.
