Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut: The Ideal Mild Cigar Experience.

Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut Blend Cigar Review… featured in The Blaze Report.

Brand Profile:

Los Statos Deluxe is expanding its profile with an impressive new Connecticut Shade cigar. Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut, the third entry in the Los Statos Deluxe portfolio, builds upon the resounding success of the brand and continues the collaboration between Matt Booth and Justin Andrews with their lightest profile yet.

“When we started developing Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut, we wanted it to be a ‘smoker’s Connecticut’ in that it is a milder cigar compared to the rest of the Los Statos Deluxe portfolio, yet it has plenty of dimension, depth and nuance,” said Matt Wilson, Los Statos Deluxe Senior Brand Manager. “This is why we wanted to work with our friends at Joya de Nicaragua to deliver on this smoking experience that cigar smokers, newer and experienced alike, can truly enjoy.”

Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut features a blend of mellow to medium-bodied Estelí, Jalapa, and Pennsylvania Broadleaf tobacco with Nicaraguan Habano filler, all wrapped with Ecuadorian Connecticut. The result? A smooth, creamy, nuanced smoking experience.

Booth, Founder and Creative Director of Room101 designed eye-catching packaging for Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut to ensure that it stands out at retail and in smokers’ humidors. “Smoking Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut will set your soul ablaze,” Booth said. “It will be as if your very spirit has touched the sun.”

Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut is hand rolled at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Nicaragua and presented in 20-count boxes. The line launched with four sizes.

Hand crafted to appeal to modern smokers and traditionalists alike, Los Statos Deluxe cigars are blended by industry experts Matt Booth and Justin Andrews. Distributed by Forged Cigar Company, Los Statos Deluxe offers smoking experiences that entice smokers and stand out in the market.

The Blaze Report:

Appearance:

This cigar was covered with a silky smooth golden brown wrapper.  The pre-light nose was light with mild hay-like notes and slightly sweet graham cracker-like notes on the pre-light taste.

1st Third:

Once lit the smoke was light bodied yet was rich in delicate flavors.  After a couple of inches in some black and white pepper note were detected when retro-haling the smoke through the nose, lingering on the palate. 2nd Third:

The aroma continued to fill the air and became richer as the cigar was smoked with some sweet undertones and luring tobacco notes. Some light spice developed in the retro-haling the smoke through the nose. The flavor circled around the tongue and became a hit and miss. I wish it was more of a mouthwatering quality to help spread the flavors evenly.

Final 3rd:

The burn and construction were good with room for outstanding.  It produced a long and dense, gray ash. While this cigar had a mild body it had a lot of flavor.  An incredibly smooth draw, aroma and flavor continued to develop with some tobacco notes and earthiness. The Grade

Final Thoughts:

While this cigar had a mild body it had a lot of flavor.  This was a great mild-bodied cigar overall with balance and finesse.  This is a really good cigar for someone new to the hobby or for the average Joe hobbyist looking for a mild cigar that offers a lot of flavor.  I feel with this Connecticut blend there’s room for growth in richer aroma, flavors and body I am looking forward to the next blend with this wrapper.
