Pairs Perfectly With:
old pulteney 18 years old.
Matured for 18 years, this is indulgent and spicy thanks to the casks selected for maturation. Taking its character and color entirely from the casks within which it has been nurtured, this is a deeply warming whisky. The indulgence extends through this single malt with chocolate and spice defining the character but allowing for the influence of more vibrant zesty flavors. Defined and shaped by its stunning coastal location, Old Pulteney single malt Scotch whisky owes much to its home town of Wick. Established in 1826 at a time when the town was home to a thriving fishing port, Old Pulteney has a strong place in the heart and history of this coastal community.

The Blaze Report:
Appearance:
This was an attractive looking cigar a noticeable fat pigtail cap that had a nice oily sheen and a chocolaty-brown sweet smelling wrapper with some tight seems. Well balanced in the hand and solid to the touch. It had a clean pre-light taste with some cedar and sweet hay-like notes.
1st Third:
The draw was smooth and effortless which paved the way for an enjoyable smoking experience. There were intriguing spices in the flavor and aroma as soon as the cigar was lit. It had a nice amount of black pepper spice in the nose and in the taste, but balanced well with the other flavors and nuances of the smoke.
2nd Third:
The burn was slow and even. It produced a long gray ash that had to be pulled from the cigar. The cigar is delivering generous amounts of dense and creamy smoke to the palate with ease. Hints of nutty flavors and aroma were noticed with cocoa powder and subtle black pepper spices, which were more noticeable in the nose when retro-haling the smoke.
Final 3rd:
This cigar was full flavor with a medium plus body. Everything seemed to work in harmony as the cigar burned down, there’s a nice balance between flavor and body strengths. Those cocoa notes began to take a back seat and the flavorful character of the cigar gave way to some earthy and wood notes developed with hints of creaminess. The aroma continued to smoke becoming full and rich.
Final Thoughts:
Outstanding burn and overall construction from beginning to the end. This cigar offered amazing well-round flavors on the palate with complexity and a beautiful aroma. Medium to full body most of the way through with a long and flavorful finish. Outstanding with pleasant flavors that were delightful on the palate yet was able to deliver a full flavored and good body experience with an enticing flavor journey.
