Crafted in 2013 to mark the 110th anniversary of the Dominican La Aurora cigar factory, only 3,000 numbered bottles of this rum are produced each year in collaboration with Ron Barceló. The 10-year-old spirit was crafted to bring out the best in premium cigars.

The Blaze Report:
Appearance:
This cigar had a smooth and rich looking, deep brown colored light oily wrapper. Attractive to the eye with an evenly colored wrapper. Solid to the touch and light in the hand that had a lot of rich tones, sweet and clean on the pre-light smell with some dry nutty notes on the taste.
1st Third:
The cigar had a smooth draw with the slightest resistance. The burn was slow and even, which produced generous amounts of creamy textured smoke that had a nice manageable peppery spice through the nose. Sweet hay-light notes with some floral tones. Delivering big clouds of dense and full flavored smoke to the palate effortlessly.
2nd Third:
There was a sweet note in the aroma with a spicy floral tone. Pepper and toast-like notes were noticed in the flavor when retro-haling the smoke. The aroma was full and rich with a spicy-sweet character lingering on the palate through the finish.
Final 3rd:
There were oak and cedar notes, graham cracker and more pepper developed as the cigar was smoked. It was complex with changes and development in the flavor, which was balanced on the palate. The aroma was full with a luring sweet and spicy, rich full flavors and had a medium-full body.
Making the Grade
Final Thoughts:
Overall this was an easy going cigar that had full flavored complex cigar that offered a great aroma and smooth full flavors. The cigar burned slow and even while the cigar continued to gain body strength as it was smoked with a long and full flavored finish. Balanced pepper notes that became very pronounced with long flavorful spices. Taste with notes of creaminess and nuttiness with more rich aroma and flavors. A very well made flavorful cigar and outstanding construction and just a fantastic cigar overall.
