Fabrica 5 Launches 2 Sisters Cigar Line with Sorella di Notte: Sister of the Night
A Tribute to Two Magnificent Women — And to Many More
Fabrica 5 is introducing a new cigar brand with a meaningful story behind it. The debut release, Sorella di Notte: Sister of the Night, marks the launch of the 2 Sisters cigar line, honoring two women whose combined experience spans more than 50 years in the Cuban cigar industry.
Blended by legendary Cuban master blender Hamlet Paredes, the new cigar was developed under the Fabrica 5 concept, which celebrates the five senses and the complete experience of enjoying a fine cigar.
Created by Bond Roberts co-founder and head of Fabrica 5, Rob Ayala, the 2 Sisters brand pays tribute to Diana Ayala and Lisa Goreta. However, the inspiration extends beyond these two women, recognizing the countless women whose dedication and expertise have helped shape the cigar industry, from offices and sorting rooms to factories and tobacco fields.
Celebrating More Than 50 Years of Cigar Industry Experience
For Diana Ayala and Lisa Goreta, the cigar industry has been more than a profession. Together, they represent decades of hard work, knowledge, memorable experiences, and a genuine passion for cigars.
“Between them, Diana and Lisa have given 50 years to the Cuban cigar industry: half a century of experience, hard work, laughter, arguments, extraordinary stories, and a genuine love of cigars,” said Rob Ayala. “Their fingerprints are on countless cigars many around the world have enjoyed over the years.”
With the introduction of 2 Sisters, Fabrica 5 celebrates their contributions while recognizing the many other women whose work continues to influence the world of premium cigars.
Inspired by a Cuban Classic, Crafted with Its Own Identity
Diana and Lisa share an appreciation for the Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo des Dieux, providing inspiration for the debut blend. Rather than attempting to recreate the classic cigar, Hamlet Paredes was challenged to capture the qualities they appreciate while developing a blend with its own distinct personality.
According to Ayala, Paredes delivered an exceptional result.
“Quite fittingly, Hamlet has delivered an absolute triumph,” Ayala noted.
Measuring 6 1/8 inches long with a 42-ring-gauge format, the medium-bodied Sorella di Notte combines an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Honduran binder and a blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos.
Sorella di Notte: Tasting Notes
The blend is designed to deliver an evolving smoking experience, moving through layers of sweetness, roasted flavors, toasted tobacco, and gentle spice.
First Third: Cedar, medium-roast coffee, a light tingle of spice, sweet dairy cream, and toasted tobacco establish the cigar’s opening profile.
Second Third: The smoke develops into a deeper, richer experience featuring toasted tobacco, warm brioche, and vanilla bean.
Final Third: Roasted coffee bean, sweet vanilla, and gentle spice carry through a lingering finish.
The medium-bodied profile balances warmth and sweetness with the character of toasted tobacco, creating a progression of flavors throughout the cigar.
“Anyone who has met Diana and Lisa will attest that they are no wallflowers, they know how to command a room. You’ll find these cigars are no different,” said Ayala.
