Mayimbe Cigars by AJ Fernandez “Dark and Silky Smooth”

Raised in Cuba and steeped in the rich tradition of the Fernandez cigar legacy, AJ Fernandez produces some of the best hand-rolled product in Esteli, Nicaragua.  To ensure the highest quality, the day-to-day operations at Tabacalera Fernandez are managed under the watchful eye of AJ himself.

Through a fusion of inherited technique and learned patience, Fernandez filler tobaccos are grown from seeds which are proprietary only to the Fernandez family. Perhaps the most essential quality of the AJ Fernandez line of cigars is his dedication to the time-honored methods and traditions of tobacco production, driven in large part from his grandfather’s influence.

The term “Mayimbe” comes from the Taino Indians of Quisqueya Island. Simply translated, it means “The Village Chief.”  In modern day Latino culture, a “Mayimbe” is a person who everyone loves to be around.  Likewise, you will traditionally find a “Mayimbe” around people who are happy, fun, and have a true passion for life.

 This cigar has a very beautiful, dark silky-smooth wrapper.  The draw is very smooth and gives way to thick clouds smoke.  Mayimbe’s construction is outstanding – the burn produced an ash of 2 ½ inches long and almost all white.  Its flavor has a creamy texture with spice and pepper, balanced by undertones of sweetness.  Mayimbe’s full bodied flavor builds nicely throughout the smoke….truly outstanding.

 

The Mayimbe cigar is a unique smoke that we highly recommended.  Beyond its excellent construction, you will find no resistance on the draw and great full flavored smoke in a range of flavors.
