La Duena Robusto No.5 Cigar “Very Enjoyable Smoke “

For many years, Janny Garcia has worked side by side with her father Don Pepin Garcia and her brother Jaime Garcia in building the family company.  After honoring Don Pepin with the My Father Cigar and Jaime with the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial, the time has come for La Duena (meaning female owner) to receive her own tribute.

La Duena has a binder and filler encompassing Connecticut Broadleaf and Nicaraguan tobacco (100% from the Garcias farm in Esteli), and the wrapper is a Connecticut Broadleaf. It is a Medium to Full Body cigar and is available in five sizes.

The wrapper on this cigar was dark and oily, and the pre-light smell was subtle but quite rich at the same time. There was a slight resistance on the draw but the construction was nearly flawless. Some spices developed through the nose, along with a smooth creamy texture. La Duena delivered thick clouds of spicy smoke to my palate. The burn was slow and even, and the taste was hearty with a long, full-flavored finish. Overall, La Duena is a very enjoyable smoke for any time of the day and one that we would strongly recommend.
