Since 1966, the Navy Golf Course has been serving Military Families and Veterans by directing 100% of the profits generated to these two groups. When you play The Navy Golf Course you are directly supporting Quality of Life Programs for our active-duty military personnel and their families.

Our facility features the Championship 18-hole  “Destroyer” Course measuring out at 6,780 yards, also an executive 9-hole “Cruiser Course” that features four par-4’s and five par-3’s. Go around the Cruiser Course twice (from two sets of tees) to enjoy a leisurely round of golf with family and friends. Other unique points of this facility is that it is situated right next to the Los Alamitos Air Station where you can see military jets and planes take off and land right next to the course.

Part of the unique history of this golf course centers on Lt. Colonel Earl Woods and his son Eldrick “Tiger” Woods”. In the early 80’s and into the 90’s, Tiger and Earl were familiar figures at The Navy Golf Course. Earl and Tiger played Navy several times a week and Tiger was a regular fixture at the driving range, hitting thousands of balls to hone his game.  Some of the current staff, including Navy head professional Joe Grohman, have fond memories of playing rounds with Tiger and watching him grow into the phenomenal player that he is today. Tiger’s exploits are now legendary – and it all started right here.

Joe Grohman is still the head professional at Navy and many up and coming young stars still seek out Joe who was one of Tiger’s early mentors. As for Tiger, you can still see his tree on the 18^th hole now called “Tiger’s Tree” where he hit his drives over 300 yards from the blue tees. Come play the Destroyer Course and see if you can get your drive out to Tiger’s mark.

The Navy Golf Course is situated on 220 beautiful tree-lined acres in Orange County, California. The course has been continuously updated over the year’s including a newly constructed clubhouse that features the “Eagles Nest” restaurant and bar, also a full outside wedding chapel. This new facility is ideal for large gatherings and special events.

The Navy Golf Course is an ideal venue for golf tournaments, weddings and special events. We are a favorite location for numerous local traveling golf groups and an ideal site for golf tournaments of all sizes.   You will be impressed with our “Yes we can attitude”.

Welcome to the nation’s foremost municipal golf course. Situated atop cliffs towering above the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California, golfers marvel at the views of the coastline, deep ravines, and classic championship golf holes.

Located in La Jolla (pronounced “la hoya”), California, Torrey Pines Golf Course sits on the coastal cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and is recognized as the premier municipal golf course owned and operated by a city. It is named after the Torrey Pine, a rare tree that grows in the wild only along this local stretch of the coastline in San Diego County and on Santa Rosa Island.

It offers two picturesque and, due to its yearly hosting of the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open event, widely recognizable championship 18-hole golf courses. It is surely the most accessible public facility for the die-hard enthusiast wishing to play at a world-renown facility that nearly all golfers know by name.

Torrey Pines was the site of perhaps the most memorable modern day U.S. Open Championship, when in 2008, under the typically brutal conditions of this major tournament, injured and hobbling Tiger Woods defeated Rocco Mediate during their sudden death playoff after 90 grueling holes of exciting golf.

Torrey Pines also offers one of the largest on-course golf shops in the United States, expert instruction, tournaments, and advanced golf schools.

Residents of San Diego can book tee times up to 7 days in advance by calling the city’s automated tee time reservation system at:
(619)570-1234. (Callers must have a valid City of San Diego Resident ID card and 6 digit PIN number to use this system to make a reservation.)

Non-residents and residents of San Diego may also book a tee time 8 to 90 days in advance by calling the San Diego Park & Recreation advance tee time reservation service number at:

This service is available Monday thru Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM, Pacific Standard Time. Advance tee time booking fees apply.

Rental Information
The Golf Shop at Torrey Pines provides rental items for use on the day of play. We have over 100 sets in stock including left-handed sets. Clubs may not be reserved in advance.

Practice Range
The range is open to the public from 7 am to approximately 90 minutes before sunset daily, except on Mondays when it it closes for extended maintenance starting at 2:00 pm.
