Viaje ORO Lancero Cigar review “Quality is better than quantity”
Brand History:
What is Viaje? I get asked this question a lot. Viaje is a boutique cigar company specializing in the small batch approach to cigar making. Viaje represents the idea that quality is better than quantity. That small is better than big. That few are better than many.
Why small batch? Well, there are many reasons. Quality, consistency and most importantly, this is where I get my inspiration. If you enjoy mass produced cigars, you are in the wrong place. We use tobacco sparingly to execute our vision of what a cigar should look and taste like. Viaje represents the boutique in every sense of the word. This is what I enjoy, this is what I provide, and this is my promise. Join us in the revolution against mediocrity.
Appearance:
The cigar that had a slight reddish colored wrapper that was very consistent in color. Smooth and seamless with a nice evenly colored wrapper. A sweet pre-light aroma on the foot. A good firmness feels and had a hint of sweet hay-like smell.
Journey Profile:
1st quarter: Once lit every draw produced a thick and sweet texture of smoke that was smooth on the palate. A smooth draw that delivered full flavored smoke. Slight resistance at start to loosen up once well into the 1st. 2nd quarter: Plenty of dominating flavors with hints of sweet cedar. Subtle but ever so present of spice with very good smoothness through the profile of the 2nd. 3rd quarter: Very unique flavor profile with great charterer. Consistently smooth draw developing nice dense clouds of smoke. 4th quarter: Full well balanced flavored with greater aroma. Some underlying sweetness detected with rich character. Luring, rich and pleasant to the finish.
Final Thoughts:
Flavors continued to produce with great aroma delivering a very rich and full flavor. An outstanding different and flavorful cigar. Well-made medium body that was effortless to smoke leaving a long lasting impression on the palate.
