Avo Unexpedicated Celebration Cigar Review.
Company History
The Avo cigar brand became available in 1988 and was founded by musician and composer Avo Uvezian. After music, Avo Uvezian’s next great passion is cigars. His love for cigars resulted in him developing his own unique blend with legendary cigar manufacturer Hendrik Kelner, who is based in the Dominican Republic and who also produces the renowned Davidoff brand.
In 1995, Davidoff bought the Avo brand from Avo Uvezian and now Avo concentrates on the promotional aspect of the brand. Avo cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic and are manufactured in the same factory that produces Davidoff cigars.
Avo Cigars are made from the finest ingredients for complete pleasure. These smokes are made from selected tobaccos, kept in store until they are fully mature and contain a large proportion of a specially fermented, matured Piloto Cubano tobacco from the Dominican Republic. The binder leaf is best Olor tobacco from the Villa Gonzalez region, and a Connecticut Shade wrapper leaf provides the perfect finishing touch to the Avo cigars.
Appearance :
Very nice yellow and gold band. The cigar has a beautiful looking smooth light brown wrapper. Solid to the touch with a pre-light smell of hay and floral notes.
Journey Profile:
1st Third
Once lit the cigar immediately provided a great aroma of sweet hay and a nutty texture. A hint of pepper spices and floral like notes on the retro-hale. Getting a bit more white pepper spice through the nose as the cigar is smoked down.
2nd Third:
Opening up some more starting to get some creamy and coca notes. Earthiness along with some underlying spice wanting to introduce itself. As the cigar is smoked a richer a earthy tone developed, and played back and forth with some floral tones and earthy spiciness. Really enjoying the sharp burn holding on to a long ash well rolled.
Final 3rd:
The spices became more prevalent through the nose and maintained intensity. The body continued to develop and gain momentum. Now into the final 3rd it’s full flavors notes spice, creaminess with a earthy touch. A very flavorful finish in the makings right here that’s lingering on the tongue and palate. Very nice pepper on the retrohale with a sweetness that reminds me of honey on toast.
Final Thoughts:
This was an very easy going cigar with a good personality. It had a great burn overall with no touch-ups. A great aroma and flavor for the veteran cigar lovers to enjoy. Juicy, complex and full-flavored cigar with outstanding construction. Sweetness and floral flavors that maintain it’s presents from start to finish.Very well jaded flavorful cigar with a great value.
