Protocol Cigars is proud to announce its sixth addition to the core line offering. This release is called the Crime Scene Unit. Keeping with the company’s law enforcement theme, it pays homage to the men and women that work diligently in the Crime Scene Unit. The Crime Scene Unit (CSU) – is a specialized team of forensic experts who meticulously process and analyze crime scenes. They collect and preserve evidence, including fingerprints, DNA, and other physical materials, to help investigators piece together the facts of a case and bring criminals to justice. 

The Crime Scene Unit marks the first time the company is using a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro Wrapper. Cubariqueño Cigar Company founder Juan Cancel states “Since day one I wanted to release a cigar with a Connecticut Broadleaf Wrapper but was always told a company our size could never get it. For years it was denied to us. I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and try to secure some Connecticut Broadleaf on my own. I tried every avenue possible until I decided to ask one of my mentors and dear friends in the cigar industry, Abdel Fernandez. Thank you Abdel Fernandez for helping me make my dream come true. I am eternally grateful!”

The Crime Scene Unit is a cigar crafted for those who don’t flinch at the dark, they work in it. Wrapped in a rich, dark, and oily Connecticut Broadleaf, with a bold Mexican San Andres Maduro binder and built on a foundation of Nicaraguan Criollo and Corojo fillers from Jalapa and Esteli.

The vitola is a short double corona size 6.5 x 50. The Crime Scene Unit comes in a 10 count box with an MSRP of $180.00 per 10 count box and $18 per cigar. This initial release was slated to be 300 boxes but only 150 boxes landed due to production restrictions. It is unknown at this time if future production releases will be possible so at this time the company is categorizing it as a limited production status. The cigars will start shipping now and should see shelves by next week.
