Fratello Cigars is proud to announce the launch of The Fratello 1821 Dominican Republic, the inaugural release of its Puro Collection. This collection marks Fratello Cigars’ first-ever lineup where the wrapper, binder, and filler all hail from a single country of origin.
Founder and Owner, Omar de Frias, expressed his excitement for this project, stating, “We at Fratello have been known for working on tobacco blends from various countries. With the Puro Collection, I wanted to challenge myself and create something truly extraordinary with a single origin blend, and
the Fratello 1821 Dominican Republic delivered.”
The year 1821 holds profound significance, honoring the shared legacy of Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic when it comes to their rich and storied tobacco traditions. Both Nicaragua and Dominican Republic (Then Spanish La Hispaniola) declared independence from Spain that year, marking a historic moment of liberation from colonial rule.
Making its debut at PCA 2025 in New Orleans, the Fratello 1821 D.R will come in just one size—a medium to full body (6 x 58) and packed in sleek 12-count boxes. Retail is set at $18.21 per cigar, and it’s being rolled at the La Aurora factory in the Dominican Republic.
Anticipated to ship in September 2025, this debut release will be followed by the Fratello 1821 Nicaragua as the next installment in Fratello Cigars Puro Collection
