Cohiba Kicks Off Its 60th Anniversary Celebrations With the Global Launch of Talismán

Habanos, S.A. launches the “Year of Cohiba” in London with Cohiba Talismán, bringing the celebrated cigar back as a regular release in the brand’s iconic Línea Clásica.
HAVANA, Cuba
Habanos, S.A. has officially kicked off the “Year of Cohiba” with the global launch of Cohiba Talismán, the latest addition to the brand’s Línea Clásica. The unveiling took place in London on October 7, marking the first major milestone in celebrations for Cohiba’s 60th anniversary.
Six decades after its introduction in 1966, Cohiba remains one of the most recognized names in premium cigars, synonymous with luxury, craftsmanship, and Cuban tobacco tradition. The launch of Talismán signals the beginning of a special year celebrating the history and international legacy of Habanos’ flagship brand.
Originally released in 2017 as a Limited Edition, Cohiba Talismán now joins the brand’s regular portfolio as the ninth vitola in the Línea Clásica.

Cohiba Talismán Joins the Línea Clásica
The return of Cohiba Talismán brings a familiar release into the brand’s permanent lineup, accompanied by updated packaging and new features designed to enhance the aficionado’s experience.
The cigar is presented in the Sublimes No. 1 format, measuring 54 ring gauge by 154 mm in length. Its extra-thick gauge and parejo shape with a pigtail finish deliver a medium-to-full-bodied smoking experience estimated at 60 to 90 minutes.
The new presentation includes a 10-count “Boîte Nature” box featuring NFC technology embedded in the interior label. This technology allows customers to verify product authenticity while providing a digital experience connected to the Habano.
A special foot band displaying the Talismán name adds another distinctive detail to the cigar’s presentation.
Habanos, S.A. also plans to progressively introduce the refreshed packaging throughout the rest of the Línea Clásica.

The Craftsmanship Behind Cohiba
Cohiba’s reputation is built on carefully selected Cuban tobacco and a distinctive production process.
Each Talismán is totally handmade with long filler using leaves selected from the finest tobacco plantations, known as Vegas de Primera, in San Juan y Martínez and San Luis, within the Vuelta Abajo zone of Pinar del Río, Cuba.
The brand’s distinctive character is further shaped by an additional fermentation process that contributes to Cohiba’s signature aroma and flavor.
With Talismán, Cohiba continues its tradition of combining exceptional tobacco selection, careful craftsmanship, and a recognizable smoking profile.
London Hosts the Global Premiere
The global unveiling took place Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in London, bringing together approximately 400 guests, including international distributors, members of the media, cigar enthusiasts, representatives from Hunter & Frankau, and executives from Habanos, S.A.
Guests had the opportunity to discover and taste Cohiba Talismán for the first time.
The evening included an exhibition highlighting some of Cohiba’s most iconic releases, live music, and cocktails created for the occasion by The Dalmore and Eminente Rum.
Each guest also received a Cohiba Talismán gift pack to commemorate the launch and the beginning of the brand’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
London has played an important role in previous Cohiba launches. Jemma Freeman, Executive Chair of Hunters & Frankau, highlighted the city’s history of hosting significant brand milestones, including the Línea 1492 presentation in 1993, the Siglo VI launch, the Behike 52, 54, and 56 releases in 2010, and the original Talismán Limited Edition in 2017.

Habanos Executives Celebrate a New Milestone
José María López Inchaurbe, Vice-President of Development at Habanos, S.A., described Cohiba as a brand that combines an uncompromising commitment to quality with deep Cuban roots and a continued ability to surprise aficionados.
He also emphasized that Talismán is more than the first release associated with Cohiba’s 60th anniversary. It marks the beginning of a year of new offerings planned for the brand.
The message is clear: Cohiba Talismán is the opening chapter of a larger celebration, with more developments expected throughout the anniversary year.
Cohiba Talismán Tasting Notes
